About Me

Who is Karen Day?

Hey y'all! I am so excited that you clicked over to find out more about me, Karen Day.

By day I am a teacher/ coach with the Arkansas Dream Center and at night, I'm a momma, wife,  and maker.
Me and the littles, well not so littles back in 2018.

I live on the street where my husband grew up in the capital city of Arkansas. How cool is that?!? His parents are still our neighbors. I love our quiet neighborhood and the life we have built here with our 2 kids and 2 dogs. Thomas, often referred to here as "the hubs", runs a franchise with my dad. His background has always been in the business entrepreneurial end of things. We have 2 kids, well they aren't really kids anymore since neither one is under 18. But they are ours and they still claim us. Our oldest left home last year and now lives and works in Northwest Arkansas. And the little guy, sorry dude but you will ALWAYS be my little guy, is 18 and getting ready to graduate from high school. He plans to attend one of the trade schools and get his welding certifications. Almost an empty nest here. I guess it will never truly be an empty nest because of the fur babies, Rylee and Lucy.

Me and the hubs!
Lucy and Rylee- no they are not spoiled at all! LOL!

Teaching has been a life long thing....
I attended UALR to get a  bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, and Arkansas State University to get my masters in Curriculum, Instruction and leadership. My mom says that I've been teaching anything that sits still long enough since I was a small girl playing with dolls. In my school years I loved art class and creating. I sold my first art work when I was in third grade. It was a painting I did in art of a cat. I was so proud of that moment. My mom's house is still covered in things I painted or made along the year.

Thank you for coming to get to know me a little better. Please reach out if you have any questions.
