Sweetheart Roses Bag

Wednesday, January 22, 2020
Hello lovelies! I promised to share this creation a while back and it kept getting bumped in the line up. But not anymore! This adorable bag was made with the new Best Dressed Suite die cuts. I really got this suite because of this die, how is that for honesty. LOL! I loved all the little bags that I was seeing from On Stage. I knew I needed this die in my life. See my day job is pre school teacher and this year I have 15 girls in a class of 18. Oh my its a lot of little girls. But I know my little girls would LOVE treats in this little bag! Don't worry, I can totally make this into a backpack for the little boys ;)  I wouldn't dare leave them out of the fun.

This die is so versatile! Emboss a background, stamp a background, or use DSP (pattern paper) as the base for a super cute bag. For this bag I used the Tuffted 3D embossing folder.

Details for today's card

  • Purple Posy embossed with the Tuffted 3D embossing folder
  • Rose flower cut from Best Dressed DSP
  • Silver Metallic Thread

Reflecting on Birthdays with a cute Koala card!

Monday, January 20, 2020
Each January I write all the family's birthdays on my new wall calendar. Target dollar spot or Bullseye's Playground has the BEST trendy calendars. I got 3. No joke. I got one for my craft area, one for the kitchen and one that is a weekly calendar. This always gets to thinking about making birthday cards. I mean who doesn't need like a million birthday cards and heaven forbid Aunt Jane gets the SAME card and Uncle Frank, right?

When the Mini Catalog came out I fell hard for the Birthday Bonanza products. We have a discussion board just for all the demonstrators and happy shoppers that was blowing up about these images. The debate was just for kids or adults too! Yes this set could be for kids but the graphic woodblock type nature of the images could be adult too. You just need the right colors and paper. So there you have it, I'm Team Adult for this stamp set.

I have used this basic card design over and over and over with all types of images and cards. I just love the happy nature of the round circles. The card looks great if you use one image like I did on this one or if you use 3 different images. It's just a playful and fun card design. One tip I have for a card like this, one that is all cardstock, is to emboss the background so that it has texture. Without the embossed background it just feels like it is lacking something. I love the Subtle 3D embossing folder for just this reason. This card would look great with a piece of Gray Granite embossed with the new Costal Weave 3D embossing folder.

Details for today's card

  • Base is Thick Whisper White cut at 5.5x8.5" and scored at 4.25"
  • Gray Granite layer is cut to 4x5.25" and embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder
  • Daffidil Delight cardstock punched with the 2.25" Starburst punch
  • Whisper White punched with the 2" circle punch.
  • scraps of Whisper White for the hats.

More ALK Color Challenge inspiration! Candy Box

Friday, January 17, 2020
Today I'm sharing another project using the first ALK (a little kinder) color challenge. This is a slide out treat wrap. Simply pull the bow and out slides the chocolate. I used the new Heartfelt stamp set and dies to make this wrap. I love how easy it is to "spruce" up a treat using the wrap idea. I've use all the Little Debbie treats in this way, along with Hershey bars. Super easy and a great quick treat!

Details for today's card

To create this pull out treat, I started by measuring the chocolate piece. This would be unique to your candy inside. One tip that I have is to add 1/2" to the total measurement to give you a flap. For example this wrap is only 1/2" thick and 2 inches across. If you add 2 +2+ 1/2+1/2 that would give you a 5 inch long piece of paper, however there is no flap. By cutting the smoky slate cardstock to 5 1/2 inches you now have a flap to connect the slide. The heart is on dimentionals.

ALK color challenge #1 stamped background card

Wednesday, January 15, 2020
Today I am sharing another card I made using the first ALK color challenge combination. Y'all I am in LOVE with this color combination. There is something so timeless and classic about it.

For this card I created my own background paper by stamping the heart stamp in Flirty Flamingo. I layered that stamped background piece onto Basic Gray. Then both pieces were place on to a thick Whisper White card base. The greeting for this card was stamped in Smoky Slate on Whisper White. Once I punched the heart out, I layered it on a scalloped Smoky Slate heart. I added some of the new faceted gems and boom.... card done!

Details for today's card

  • Card base: thick Whisper White cut at 5.5" x 4.25"
  • Basic Gray layer: 4" x 5.25"
  • Stamped layer: 3.75" x 5" Whisper white stamped with Flirty Flamingo
  • Stamp and punch "Happy Valentine's Day" in Smoky Slate and punch with heart punch. Layer on scalloped Smoky Slate heart

Can't Thank You Enough card

Monday, January 13, 2020

Today I am sharing a card that I made using Color Challenge blog hop color combination. As you have figured out, I'm pretty honest with y'all about how I feel. And this color combo didn't strike me. I didn't fall in love with it. I didn't get inspired by it. It felt VERY fall to me. And then I started "playing".

I pulled the 3 colors of ink, a sheet of cardstock in each color and two stamp sets that I thought might work. Then I just looked at them. Slowly this first card came together. But I really like the end result.

Details for today's first card

This is a side fold card in Basic Gray, layered with Pear Pizzaz and then a layer of Whisper White. I pulled some script DSP in Basic Gray. This one is found in the 6x6" DPS pack of Neutral colors. I stamped the new Thoughtful Blooms set that you can get free with purchase from the Sale- a-bration catalog. I used the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut frame in Pumpkin and then Whisper White. I stamped the greeting from So Sentimental set from the new Mini Catalog in Basic Gray. A few dimensional and rhinestones and my card was done. The hubs really liked this one!

A few of my favorite suites day 2! Tropical Oasis Suite

Wednesday, January 8, 2020
Welcome to day 2 of a few of my favorite suites! Today I'm sharing the Tropical Oasis suite. Being a Florida girl and wanna be tropical girl, this suite screamed at me! Literally, I screamed when I saw it. The feel is what I would call Hemmingway South Florida. I can picture the warm breezes sitting in the shade overlooking a beach. I bet you want to see it,  don't ya?

Did you notice this embossed background? It's one of the new 3D embossing folders. It's called Coastal Weave and it's stunning!! It reminds me of woven bags and hats that we see everywhere in the Caribbean. And the Memories and More cards are perfect for both scrapbook pages and cards.

Friday, January 3, 2020
Y'all I have literally been dying to share these catalogs with you! If you have ordered from me in the last year, you were mailed copies that you should have now. If you don't have a demonstrator already, I would love to get you a copy and be your demonstrator.

Today I am sharing some videos from Stampin' Up! that go along with my favorite sets and suites.

First up a walk through of the brand new Mini Catalog!! This year Stampin' Up! hit it out of the park with this catalog. There are SO many beautiful new sets and suites that I know you are going to love.

Let's start with a look at the suite I used in the first A Little Kinder Color Challenge.

I hope you loved getting to see the new From My Heart Products! I couldn't wait to use them either. I think my favorite thing about this suite is that it's not limited to just I love you type cards.

Count down to Sale-a-bration... card #3 tomorrow is the BIG day!

Thursday, January 2, 2020
Today I am sharing a card using the new Bonanza Birthday suite. I am in love with this set!!! I love the style of this set. It reminds me of elementary school art when we would "draw" on foam meat trays and then make a print from it. When we got to see the catalog at the beginning of December the question was thrown around about if this set was just for kids. My answer was heck no! This set is all about fun and bright colors!

Details for today's card

This is a side fold card. I cut the DSP to 4 x 51/4". Then I added a strip of 1" paper before I added it to the card base. I used the die set to cut a tag from Pool Party. I used the 2" circle punch and the Starburst punch to make the base for the lion image. I stamped the lion with So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The finishing touches are sequins and some of the beautiful new Daffodil Delight ruched ribbon.

A Little Kinder Color Challenge #1

Wednesday, January 1, 2020
It's time for our FIRST color challenge!! I am so excited. Since the next big "event" happening on the calendar is Valentine's Day, I picked a color combination that has a little sweet mixed with the ability to create for the men in your lives. When my daughter was still living here we were balance boys and girls- two of each. Now that she is in college, I'm out numbered! The guys seem to rule the house. I love my boys (the hubs and the son), but pink , blush, and red will not work for them.
So there it is... our challenge is to use Flirty Flamingo, Smoky Slate, and Basic Gray. I am envisioning beautiful projects both for Valentie's and everyday. This color combination screams classy and classic  couture like Chanel. While not full of trendy colors, these will stand the test of time! I can't wait to see what you create.

Some Inspiration for you:

I really did have a lot of fun with the color combination. It's very timeless. I also loved that arrow stamp! I can't wait to play with this set again. Now I'm dying to see what you come up with!! Link below...
