Botanical Prints Product Medley: Hello card

Tuesday, April 21, 2020
Hey Y'all! I wanted to highlight something in the January- June Mini Catalog that I honestly feel like is a sleeper product. As in, you might miss it and be said because the catalog does not do it justice. Stampin' Up! has had some product medleys before. These are like suites, kind of, but better. This one knocked my socks off!! First, let's talk about what is in this melody.

Do you see that??? There is a stamp set, dies to match, printed die cuts and labels, layer cut overlays, copper embellishments, Old Olive ribbon, and double sided 6x6 papers!! Let's take a closer look at the papers. I LOVE this medley!!

And as if the colored side wasn't enough each of the backs feature a black and white pattern or print! I spy with my little eye black and white stripe paper!!! Yes I'm yelling. Y'all a good black and white stripe is my FAVORITE to use as an accent on any colored card. You can see it in my card below. It's just so timeless and classy.

And here is my first card using this Medley. I added the Hello from Label Me Bold because it's my favorite ever. I used Old Olive cardstock and Grapefruit Grove cardstock to make this card.

Details for today's card

This is a side fold card using Grapefruit Grove as the base. Old Olive cardstock as a mat and the rest is from the Medley. This would be a great gift to give someone wanting to get into crafting. It has almost everything you would need. Add a Tuxedo Black Memento Ink pad, C or D block, trimmer, and adhesive and you are ready to roll.

More from the Birthday Bonanza Suite: A Toucan and Ice Cream card

Wednesday, April 15, 2020
Hey Y'all!! I have a fun birthday card for you today! I LOVE the Birthday Bonanza suite. I'm going to be sad to see this set go. It's just such a fun suite!

Details for today's card

I don't often make this orientation of card a top fold but this one is. The base is Terracotta Tile cardstock with several layers of Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper. Remember all those pieces I die cut with my quick cards? I grabbed one out of my pocket to use with this card. I LOVE the greetings in the Label Me Bold set. I stamped this happy birthday with Grapefruit Grove and fussy cut it. I added a layer of Velum Cardstock to mute the Designer Series Paper right behind the ice cream. Without the Vellum Cardstock, the ice cream faded into the background. I added some rhinestones and bam! I am in love with this cheery card.

Hello friend quick card

Thursday, April 9, 2020
Hey y'all! Wow things really seem to be crazy right now. School has been canceled. Businesses are closed. And honestly, I've been feeling a little blue. I decided to use some fun and bright Designer Series Papers to create a quick card that I can send to a friend to brighten their day too. These papers are part of the Birthday Bonanza Suite.

Details for today's card

This is a side fold card that I used scraps from the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper to create. I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink and added the Heart Epoxy Droplets that I had colored with the Pretty Peacock Blends.

Something Old Something New: and even more Quick cards

Wednesday, April 1, 2020
Hey Y'all!! This is the last set of quick cards that I am going to share... for now. I am sharing these together because they look so much alike. And I wanted to share some more tips that I thought of since I first posted.

This first card uses the black and white stripe paper from an old Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper. The polka dot paper is part of the Bird Ballad Suite. I added some sequins and the little heart stamps are from the Label Me Bold stamp set.

The second card follows the same idea as the first but it uses the retired Valentine's Paper from the 2019 Occasions catalog. The stamps are from the Heartfelt Stamp set. I love how you can take a card and use what you have on hand to make it. You just follow the basic idea of the inspiration card.

So my tips! Find or make an inspiration card. Then bulk create the elements. For example I die cut the black labels in several colors all at one time. I knew what DSP I wanted to use because I had pulled that when I made my inspiration card. I came up with a basic layout for the card (both a landscape and portrait). Then I substituted different papers and embellishments. I have a little folder with a picture of the first card (seen here) and inside are any die cut pieces or DSP pieces I haven't used. Taking the few minutes to make the folder means that I can whip up a card quickly!

Details for today's cards

These are both top folding cards out of Thick Whisper White cardstock. Then I added the two layers of Designer Series Paper and the two layers of tags. This is kind of like a recipe or formula to make cards with, rather than using a sketch.
