Mailbox SONshine

Hello y'all!

I am so happy and excited to bring you what God is laying on my heart! Welcome to Project Cards of Joy.

How did Project Cards of Joy start?

One day we will look back and remember Covid-19 or the Coronavirus and all that happened during those days and weeks and months. Right now, we are living it. Where I am in Arkansas the weather turned off cold and rainy just as the schools and businesses started to shut down. On the first Monday that I was not able to report to school, I felt myself spinning into a place of darkness aka the funk. Nothing seemed to bring me joy. My dog Rylee curled up in my lap and we watched the rain drip down. But when I looked down at Rylee, I saw the joy she had from just being curled up in my lap. I whispered a prayer with the words of Psalms 118:24  "this is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad it in".  I looked up at the sky and saw a little peak of sunshine peak out from the clouds, just as the mailman rolled up. It hit me. I love making cards. I love teaching others to make cards. And now I could spread a little joy around by filling mailboxes with cards. SO I took to Facebook and Instagram. I posted a very real and very raw message. At the end I asked who needed some sunshine and in minutes I had 10, no 20, maybe 30 people sending me their mailing address. And Project Cards of Joy was born.

What is Project Cards of Joy?

It is simply a way to add some joy or sunshine to your day. You request a card be mailed to someone you love or to your home. Fill out this form (it's how I get your mailing address). Then I send you a card. There is a catch though. In the card I will include an envelope and ask that you mail the card to someone you love. This is a pay it forward spreading of Joy! Not really a catch is it? There is as much joy that comes in letting someone know you care about them as there is in getting a card!

How can I support Project Cards of Joy?

Honestly, this is the hard part for me. I would love to be able to send cards to anyone who wants them but I need help to do this. There are several ways you can help.

1. Become a customer of my Stampin' Up! business by ordering products from me for your crafting projects.

2. Use the cash app ($alittlekinderstamps) or venmo (@Karen-E-Day) to donate to the costs of mailing. Specifically I am using this money to purchase stamps and the extra envelopes.

3. Pray for this project. Pray that God will be able to use this Project to reach His people. Pray that I am able to stretch my budget to be able to purchase envelopes and stamps to cover the requests for cards. Pray that people will support this ministry and ask for cards to be sent.
