Positive Inkers December Blog Hop

Tuesday, December 1, 2020
Hey y'all!
Can you believe it's December??? I'm going to be really transparent here, I haven't really been jolly or happy about the holidays coming. Normally I would be singing carols and watching Hallmark Movies but this year I'm just zapped. It's been a really hard for me this fall. Returning to the classroom and teaching face to face in a pandemic that half of the people don't think is a big deal, has really been draining. But working with a therapist is helping and you know what.... we decorated for Christmas over the Thanksgiving break. Got a tree and got it up. I have a BUNCH of crafty additions planned and ready for me to create.

Let’s dive into this months blog hop. We are working with this sketch.

I love a good sketch but I also love a sketch that inspires me. This sketch really inspires me more than I was drawn to the actual placement of the sketch. I loved the dots and the large area for a sentiment. And the “leaves” looked a lot like feathers. So I pulled out my timeless treasures stamp set and went to work.

Details for today's card

As much as I tried, I couldn’t do the tilted thing. I wanted to but my card making style is very straight. I moved the feathers over to the right because they felt off balanced to me. The labels I used for the sentiment area are from the Stitched so Sweetly die set. I stamped the dot paper with the back of a photo polymer stamp.

  2. The pandemic is part of our lives and makes it difficult for us to be alway positive. I would like to let you know that I can feel that part of your story and wish you a lot of strength!
Through your interpretation of the sketch I learn to look at a sketch differently! And I love that! Thank you for the inspiration! gr Elly
