It's a rainy day here with Tropical Storm Cristobal coming ashore in Louisiana. I'm in Arkansas and our expected rain is for Monday and Tuesday. It's a slow, steady, soaking kind of rain. The kind that is perfect for reading and napping - both of those are scheduled for later today. ;)
Today I wanted to play with the new Playing with Patterns suite. This suite is a little different. At first glance the stamp set and dies do not seem to go together. The stamps are all about patterns. There are 2 sentiment stamps but the rest of the 11 stamp set stamps are patterns. Stripes, lines, dots, semi circles, hearts, dots.... They are perfect for creating backgrounds and tags. The die set is an alphabet set. Squeal! This is absolutely my favorite alphabet set EVER! This one is so perfect and well thought out. There are doubles of the most used letters so that you don't have to "guess" at positioning. This alphabet is going to be a game changer for word shaker cards and the negative window technique.
Details for today's card
I love this card! The letters HBD (happy birthday day) are actually 3 layers of Whisper White cardstock die cut and then glued together to create a very thick embellishment. I used the new 2020-2021 In Colors to stamp the background with my Stamparatus. The dots are Misty Moonlight and the the stripes are Cinnamon Cider. The graphic feel of this card is perfect and would work for both masculine cards (as shown) or feminine cards (I would change the color scheme).Measurements:
- Thick Whisper White cardstock cut 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and folded at 4 1/4".
- Misty Moonlight is 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
- Whisper White Layer 5 1/4"x 4" (this is the layer I stamped on)
- 2 1/4 " circle punch of Misty Moonlight
